Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming techniques and water safety to students of all ages and skill levels. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on individuals' lives through the joy of swimming.
We would like to have the swimming instuructor to provide this service two (2) days a week for four (4) hours each day. This will be a set schedule during the pool season or until further notice.
Duties:
- Conduct swim lessons in a safe and supportive environment
- Teach proper swimming techniques, including strokes, breathing, and floating
- Provide instruction on water safety and emergency procedures
- Assess students' abilities and adjust lesson plans accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Ensure a clean and organized pool area
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Swim Instructor or in a related role is preferred
- Strong swimming skills and knowledge of various swimming strokes
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with individuals of all ages and backgrounds
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching others
Skills:
- Ability to climb in and out of the pool as needed
- Experience in behavior management techniques
- Background in physical education or related field is advantageous
- Experience working with students in childcare or educational settings
